What is our product development team up to?
Sherlock’s Parts Library Expansion is ongoing – we are adding more parts and part wizard patterns almost every day! As we build our user-focused library, a significant number of our users’ parts will be addressed with just a click of a button.

In other news, while the Thermomechanical and Temperature-based FEA features are developed, the IC Wearout module (now known as the Semiconductor Wearout module) is undergoing some finishing touches and will be released with Sherlock v5.2. This analysis module predicts semiconductor wearout using an approach that follows SAE ARP 6338.

Since we are all excited for v5.2, here’s a preview for one of the new modeling options:
“When you model a board, are there parts that are simply place holders or do not need to be meshed? Well, you’re in luck! We’ve added the “Model Part” property to the “Pkg” tab in the Parts Editor. This allows you to selectively enable/disable FEA modeling for a specific part. If “Model Part” is set to “DISABLED”, then the part will not be included in any FEA model that is generated.”

As always, if you have any questions about these developments, please feel free reach out to me directly!

p.s. Since you've read on this far, you're one of the lucky few to receive this announcement: the Sherlock Survey for this month has been extended to next Friday (Feb. 21st)! When you complete the survey, you will be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card -- looking forward to your responses!
