Different Length Leads on AXIAL Components

Post by RickJames008 » 31 Dec 2019, 15:26

Hello,

In some of our designs we use thruhole electrolytic capacitors that have different lead shoulders lengths on each side of the package

We are always debating amongst ourselves whether to model the package with the shorter or longer lead shoulder length as well as where to place the component body on the layer viewer (I have been modeling the shorter lead shoulder length and placing the component body over its silkscreen outline)

It would be nice if the user could specify the different lead shoulder lengths on each side of the package when characterizing Axial components
Is there any plan to add this feature?

Hi RJ,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We do intend to facilitate more customized lead modeling in Sherlock. In our next release, Sherlock will be able to model asymmetric lead locations!
